🎃 HALLOWEEN IS COMING - STAY SAFE WHILE TRICK OR TREATING 🎃
With Halloween approaching, Staffordshire Police would like to remind residents, parents, and young people of some simple safety advice to help everyone enjoy the celebrations safely. For children and young people: • Always go trick or treating with friends or a responsible adult. • Stay in well-lit areas and stick to familiar routes. • Carry a torch or wear reflective clothing so you can be seen by drivers. • Only visit houses that are clearly welcoming trick or treaters, such as those with Halloween decorations displayed. • Never enter a stranger's home. • Be aware of traffic when crossing roads, particularly when wearing masks or costumes that may restrict vision. For parents and guardians: • Know where your children are going and what time they will return home. • Ensure costumes are safe, fit properly, and do not obstruct vision. • Consider accompanying younger children while trick or treating. For residents: • If you do not wish to receive trick or treat callers, please leave your exterior lights off and avoid displaying Halloween decorations. • Be considerate of neighbours and respect those who choose not to participate. Let's work together to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable Halloween. If you witness anti-social behaviour or criminal activity, please report it via 101 or online at www.staffordshire.police.uk. In an emergency, always call 999. Happy Halloween from your local Neighbourhood Policing Team! 🎃👻 |
